In 2000 David set up Castle Pictures , his website featuring pictures of over 50 Scottish castles including Doune Castle and Eilean Donan Castle .
“Last year the Outlander crew filmed a graveyard scene with Jamie ( Sam Heughan ) about a mile from where I live in Polmont .
About five years ago I drove into the village of Culross in Fife . The place was full of men and women in Highland dress heading for what I assumed were the catering tents . I only found out later they were filming Outlander in Culross . “
Our Outlander tours feature visits to film locations around Scotland , including the Bruce Fountain in Falkland , Doune Castle ( Castle Leoch ) , Linlithgow Palace ( Wentworth prison ) and Blackness Castle ( Fort William ) . Lallybroch castle is the ancestral home of Outlander star Jamie Fraser , real life Midhope Castle is just 25 minutes from Edinburgh .
